Tickets West Ham v Brighton ! COVID change of rules
Hi, hope someone can help... my 2 sons are arriving from Finland tomorrow to watch the game and because of the new bloody covid rules it means they have to self isolate until a negative PCR test, this means they will miss the game :-(

So I have 1 adult ticket and 2 under 21 years age tickets, what to do ?? guess the ticket office will be unsympathetic...

The ticket office more likely to be Asymptomatic!

My son lives in Dubai and when he comes home a private clinic comes to his home and does a pcr test. He gets the result in 5-8 hours and it costs £30.
Why do we have to pay £120 here and then send it off somewhere to be done

Re: Tickets West Ham v Brighton ! COVID change of rules
Apologies for slightly going off track with the original post but, the constant changing of the rules are ridiculous.

One of my boys returned from the Philippines last Wednesday after being there for a year. Obviously he is not vaccinated. Had to do a PCR test no more than 48 hours prior to departure which was negative. In the mean time I had to order a 2 day and 8 day test kit which comes with a reference number for his passenger locator form. All good so far.

On Friday two days after arriving home he submits his test posts it in a 48 hour priority Royal Mail post box. Job done. Today he gets an email from the laboratory, apparently the test was received today but, because it has now passed the 72 hour time limit it cannot be analysed

What a complete and utter waste of time and money. There must be 1,000's that this must happen to when posted as instructed prior to the weekend. What is the point?

Fcuk it Upton Go to the game with your kids!

Ironically, the Mrs and I were stopped twice within a hundred yards at a recent home game and asked to show our vaccine status. I can’t remember the match but there were lots of ‘Covid stewards’ present wearing tabards. We were also stopped outside the away turnstiles at Villa Park.

I reckon they only target old codgers whom they assume won’t argue and have fully complied as they won’t want the hassle of stopping younger, potentially more argumentative types who will give them a hard time.

I’ve noticed some random checks at The London but it would be a tiny minority..

Huggie

Thanks mate. But weren’t a lot saying how they had to have their phones scanned to prove their Covid status?

I remember lots saying it’s better to print out the code rather than get their phones under the scanner.

Go to the game and leave your phones at home or turn em off.

Lily - I've been to all bar 3 (including Genk) away games and all home games. Never been asked anything about Covid.

How is it home and away as far as checking you have been jabbed or had a recent negative test result? Is it no QR code, no entrance?

don't know if you have to be contactable and give your mobile details, if so then leave the phone in the hotel or house and just go to the game.

fuck it

Currently there are around 800 unsold tickets for Brighton. In normal circumstances they would be sold on the night but I have a feeling this maybe our first EPL game that is not a ticket sellout.

You should be able to return your tickets and get a refund but you need to act now by contacting the club.

Just go. Wear a yellow star or something so everyone can know.

Anyone could have covid at anytime and be anywhere and not know it.

Tell them them to go to the game. So it was fine yesterday but not today! What the fucking hell is the difference.

It’s all bullshit. Go to the game.

Just go. Take a free antigen test before you go for peace of mind to make sure they’re negative and not putting anyone at risk and go.

They don’t have the manpower to enforce this stuff. If they call and you don’t answer all you get is a voicemail message saying they will try again later.

Most people I know don’t bother with taking any of the arrival tests these days, and just use the same test order number again and again on the locator form. There’s no system in place for them to check anyone is taking them.

Expresstest at Heathrow can get results in 3 hours for a higher priced PCR.

Test and trace do send bods round from time to time to check you are isolating, but I think unlikely in the scale of people having to do it now, so you could also just try your luck.

anytime track & trace have called our house they're quite willing to "call back another time" if it's inconvenient for you to take the call. Just saying....
